School Council Stationery Shop

The School Council were given the task of finding ways to raise money for school projects, and after much discussion and ideas from our class councils, we decided to start up a stationery shop.

We decided that our unique selling point for our stationery shop was going to be that most of our products are made of recycled materials like old plastic cups, CD cases, plastic packaging and recycled paper and cardboard. We also thought it was important to keep all items priced under 50p.

We worked hard to put together a business plan and took the idea to Mrs Blowfield and Mrs Fry.

Our shop has now been up and running for 4 weeks and has been a big hit with the children.  The marker pens have been our best seller (especially with the teachers).

We have learnt important skills like budgeting, advertising, and presenting our stock.  Some of us have had to quickly learn how to find totals of money and give change.  Even our younger members have been able to do this.
This project has given us a real sense of what it is like to run a business and we hope you all continue to show your support.

Thank you to anyone who purchased something from our stationery shop.

The shop will re-open after May half term.
